Davido has responded to a critique from content creator Benji concerning his mid-year streaming performance and the dedication of his fanbase, the 30BG.
Benji’s comments were based on Nigeria’s streaming figures for the first half of 2026, where Davido ranked 12th among Nigerian artists.

Davido Defends His Music Ranking and Fanbase Loyalty

In a video posted on Instagram on September 15, 2026, Benji noted that Davido was placed outside the top 10 most-streamed Nigerian artists, with Asake at number 1 and Wizkid at number 2.
Benji questioned the loyalty of Davido’s supporters, arguing that a fanbase claiming the title ’30 Billion Gang’ should drive higher streaming numbers for their artist.
Davido defended himself in the comment section of the post and subsequently on his own Instagram story, stating that he had not released any new music during the first half of the year, which made the comparison flawed.
He emphasized that his commercial success over the past four to five years is a better measure of his career than the mid-year streaming figures, which reflect a period when he chose not to release new material.
Davido’s rebuttal highlights his focus on long-term success while addressing the recent streaming data discussions.
