Sharon Explains Her Stance on Fashion Spending
Sharon expressed her doubts about the value of high-priced clothing, saying, “I don’t really believe in buying expensive clothes personally. I believe there are some things that are worth it.” She questioned extravagant wedding dress prices, saying, “When I hear that a wedding dress costs $10,000—or even a wedding guest dress—I wonder if it’s really worth it.”
Reflecting on her wedding, Sharon revealed that her husband paid $2,000 for her wedding dress. She additionally covered costs for her bridesmaids’ dresses and associated expenses, stating, “I remember that for my wedding, my husband paid $2,000 for my dress, while I paid for all my bridesmaids’ dresses and everything else.”
Sharon noted she had 13 bridesmaids and covered the outfits for four or five hostesses, mentioning, “Altogether, I spent less than $10,000 on the entire thing.” This experience has informed her decision to be more prudent with her fashion expenditures. She stated, “Everything! That brings me back to my point. I just feel there are certain things I’m no longer willing to spend so much money on.”
Ahead of her 40th birthday, Sharon made it clear she intends to stop working directly with Nigerian designers, saying, “Unfortunately, I’m sorry to say this, but I will no longer be working directly with Nigerian designers.”
