The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has launched an investigation into two drivers accused of dangerous driving on the Nairobi Expressway.
In a statement on Monday, October 26, the authority urged Kenyans with information about the drivers or their vehicle registration numbers to come forward. NTSA condemned the conduct, saying the drivers had put themselves, their passengers, and other road users at risk.
A video circulating on social media shows the drivers, who are widely known for forex trading, racing a Mercedes-Benz C-Class and a Lamborghini along the expressway. The footage appears to show them overtaking other vehicles dangerously, including from the left, and narrowly avoiding collisions. Collision-warning alarms sound as passengers in the cars react to the maneuvers.
NTSA, a footage circulating yesterday (below) showed RAYMOND OMOSA, racing a Mercedes-Benz C-Class on a dual carriageway, with dangerous overtaking that came close to collisions with other cars. The Mercedes appeared to nearly rear-end another vehicle while attempting to overtake from the left side. Collision-warning alarms could be heard as the visibly unbelted occupants panicked and the unbelted driver braked sharply. Have you identified both drivers and investigated this footage @ntsa_kenya? Other motorists should not have to risk their lives because someone wants racing content for social media.

The video prompted calls for NTSA to identify the drivers and take appropriate action. In response, the authority asked members of the public to send any registration details through its social media direct messages.
“These drivers not only put their own lives at risk but also endangered passengers and other road users. It is deeply unfortunate that while comprehensive measures are being implemented to address road safety challenges, individuals still engage in such risky actions,” NTSA stated.
“We urge any member of the public with the registration details of these vehicles to share them via DM. We will investigate and take immediate, appropriate action,” it added.
The investigation comes as NTSA steps up road-safety enforcement following a recent rise in crashes that have claimed dozens of lives. A day earlier, 25 people died in a crash on the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway near Kanga, close to Mtito Andei. The Ministry of Roads and Transport said it would introduce stricter measures to prevent further deaths.
