LUWI CAPELLO RESPONDS TO SCAMMING ALLEGATIONS

Nairobi Diaries and Maza actor, Luwi Capello, has come forward to defend himself against accusations of duping Kenyans through employment agency Camipa Enterprises. The actor refuted claims that he, along with his alleged hidden girlfriend and associates, orchestrated a scam involving non-existent lucrative jobs in Arabian countries.

The Allegations

According to an informant who spoke to tea master Edgar Obare, in August 2023, Luwi Capello and his associates allegedly orchestrated a scam, deceiving 19 Kenyan youths with promises of lucrative positions in the UAE as security personnel, procurement officers, supermarket attendants, and receptionists. However, upon arrival, the victims were shocked to discover they were assigned menial tasks like washing boats on beaches and selling lottery tickets.

In a separate incident, almost 80 Kenyans were allegedly conned with promises of attending the Qatar Expo which never materialized. Apparently, this group is yet to received passports or refunds. The informant emphasized that all individuals involved in the alleged scam are ready to speak up and demand refunds.

In an attempt to provide clarity, Luwi Capello responded to the accusations, and admitted working at Camipa Enterprises. He explained that the company took a team of 10 people to Dubai for jobs that required payments excluding airfare, visas, and commissions.

Luwi Capello disclosed that the agent responsible for the job placements disappeared after two weeks, The company supported the affected individuals by covering accommodation fees. Some returned home, while others stayed, receiving financial assistance from the company.

Capello assured that the company is actively cooperating with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Interpol to address the situation, as the agent allegedly absconded with a considerable amount of money meant for more candidates destined for work in Dubai and the Qatar Expo.
